The lap seel guitar is one of the simplest instruments
to make and to play.This particular one is made from walnut, a
highly resonant wood.
Lap steels have been used in all types of music from Hawaiian to blues to country to Pink Floyd.
This lap steel has 6 strings which are typically
tuned to an open tuning such as open G, open C or DADGAD. For
that twangy lap steel sound it is fitted with a single coil pickup
and a tone control.
